NATURE ART

After the successful first edition, we will also organize the Nature Art Project in 2024.
If you are a Nature art artist and would like to participate, you can register via the link below.

Nature art 2023
Location

'Sint-Pietersbos' has been used by youth as a playground for decades. Located along the Drasop, between the E19 and the youth domain 'La Fresnaye', it is popularly known as 'De Zavelput'.

This place is very suitable for Nature-art because of the variety of landscape elements (differences in height, small and larger vegetation,...), materials (leaves, needles, branches, sand,...) to work with.

Leave no trace

The artists will receive the following guidelines, among others:

  • Only use materials present in the forest (leaves, branches, sand, etc. lying on the ground). So do not bring exotics inside the forest.
  • Do not use imperishable materials such as screws, iron wire or other material (though as below, make rope from burrs or nettles present,...).
  • Sort and collect waste and dispose of it in the waste sites provided.
Concept

Creation period

CC 't Vondel  invites 12 (inter)national artists (or collectives of max 4 people), each of them making a nature art work. As an artist, you will stay in 'Le Fresnaye'. It is your residence but also the daily departure point towards De Zavelput to get to work.

Opening expo

During this weekend (Friday to Sunday), visitors will be able to visit the artworks and relax in nature. This through a loop in the forest. Stewards will be deployed.

Some works may still be available to visit after the opening weekend, these are ephemeral art, where the natural elements such as wind, rain ,... can change the art or make it impermanent.
